| 0im not going to rant about it, i did that on irc. but sometimes you have to wonder at the logic of some of the admins on the irc network.

bleh. so yea. I had no access to the shells on the servers. sooooo just how am i ment to fix it?
Oh and then theirs the fact that they aint been syncing the Backup and Main services.... only like 3weeks - month out of date. so yea, not happy about that. its only tempory i know but its the problems it causes, deoping people, opping the wrong people, closing channels, allowing banned ones etc etc....
so yea, over the next hour or so i get everything back online. just. server that hosts services was @ 15.9 load so i had to wait and will have to check that once an hour over night to make sure its not screwed. why couldnt he just bloody recompile them.
and whattda know, i had no opers on some of the servers... odd cause i added them myself on most servers i had access to. so i dunno where the hell they got to.
Granted im around the most, granted i can fix the shit, but if - just if - they had listened to what i had chatted to them about in the 1st place we wouldnt be here (Hosting services on their own shell, not with an ircd, heck i even offered to pay for it, syncing the backing services, backup hub [cause imho veritynet blows lately, sure i have issues too sometimes, but nothing like that], and why the HELL do we have a server on a home connection??)
heck i own one server, and am expected to be able to mind read the access for the other shells i dont control.... amusing... not... yes im irate, well, fucked off is a better term, yes i will be bitching at certian people, yea i'll prob get glined for it, if i do i'll just run my stuff myself. nothing stopping me from doing that. i mean heck, one server, one services with another one (maybe?) just in case things go down. thats all i need. more = more problems = more work = more stress = me like this
not good in the slightist. things are slipping back to how they were here. dis-organised, unplanned and well, stressy (or is that just me?).

| Ok, so last night sleep sucked officaly. You know when no matter how much you sleep you wake up more tired than when you went to bed? One of those ones.
So I get up, for a change I goto do breakfast - I'm outta coffee - not a good start. So I shove the oven on to preheat to 200oC to do my breakfast - it takes longer than normal, around twice what it should do. And then it doesn't turn the temp down when its done, thus incinerating my breakfast. Now you see why I cant be arsed with eating.
So I give up on that, throw away my smoldering breakfast and put some toast in the toaster. It gets stuck when poping the toast up, thus staying on. Almost set the buildings fire alarms off. I can see this is gonna be a good day.
So I throw away breakfast attempt number 2. I'll have corn flakes. No cooking involved. Problem again - No milk.
Heck, I'll just give up on breakfast again.

also hate living on the high street, someone set fire to the bins outside again so had to call the fire dept out. getting a weekly thing now. one can only wait untill the extended drinking hours. dont they think how it'll affect the people that live on the road with all the pubs on? (Would seem not) Make them live here for a week, they'd soon stop them from being open anywhere near as much as they are (Yes I am in a mood about them at the moment, its causing me problems)
Saying that, I'm the one sitting here on MSN and IRC at 2:22am on a saturday morning. What can you do. Been listening to some new music I got, some Prodigy B Sides (Southpark - Cartman Sings - Prodigy Firestarter was highly amusing) as well as some other stuff (dug out the Blade Trinity soundtrack again, gotta copy that to my MP3 player 2mrow).
Should be working, website and such, I just really cant be bothered atm. EMails nice and quiet since I killed my Gentoo-User subscription, rarely looked at all the emails I got anyways, was just a waste of time, bandwidth and diskspace. Not to mention the cluter it caused in my Inbox...
Meh, all I seem to be doing this post is moaning about shit. A sure sign of when I'm tired. Oddly, I'm typing nice and neat for someone thats been up 19 hours or so. *shrug* Only myself to blame. Well and FDC as well but I'm not even going to start about the downtime in the last 24 hours.

| so yea, im off work atm, its great, nothing major that needs doing, just time to myself for a change. heck, i aint done company work since last weekend. I guess i really should have gone out clubing tonight but cant afford to atm so i'll save that for next month (maybe) just aint been out properly in ages. Oh well, guess its my own fault really.
not been up to a whole lot, installed gentoo on my new laptop at last, using it atm to post here. its cool, managed to get everything working on it hardware wise - even the wireless which i was mildly amased about. gotta love ndiswrapper. only thing i need windows for now is dreamweaver mx 2004 as that i cant get to install on linux its a bit of a bummer really as thats what i spend alot of time in, got it in VMWare atm tho so i'm still fully gentoo for the most part.
aside from that aint been up to a whole lot, compiling software takes a while and such. on the down side, my nose bleeds are back again. had 3 today already (one around an hour ago that kept me away for almost 20 mins) so i guess its off to see my doctor again (who, every time says its nothing but stress - fine but it still shouldnt happen my blood pressure cant be that high??). meh, guess they know best ¬¬
anyways, changed this LJ's style recently (last post) i think its nicer and cleaner than the old one, tho there is a weird thing i have noticed in FireFox on linux, font size's go weird sometimes - not just on this site either. Its a minor annoyance

| ok, so like yesterday i got really pissed off at work. we had a new line manager a while ago and to start off it was great. teachers were hastling us (us being me and my work mate) less, the room booking system was running smoothly.
so right, if you was a line manager in a school wouldnt you think that one of your tech's working on fixing the Phone system (that does everything, internal and external calls) was important? I do
She does not. Apparently I - "Don't know how to do my Job", "Don't Know How To Proioitise things" and "Haven't got a clue in general". hummm some people would have let that pass, but i had been running up and down between sites testing every single damn phone in the school. so i flip. big time. luckly i still have my job.
So yea, that was yesterday. I was still quite pissed off today. espesh as i was being made to do the shit jobs all day

so off i go. fun. its 34-38oC in some of the class room. so within 5-10 minutes im hot, bothered and a little annoyed cause the teacher in the classroom was bitching cause i got told to do it. so i tell them to talk to my line manger.
So they do. I get another boloxing for the 3rd time in 2 days.
I go back to the office to cool off a little and such and one teacher comes over. Now, our booking system. theres a sheet with every IT room on it and what lessons its free for them to use. BUT they have to put down their class name and their name - so we know who is where (we have a problem with the IT rooms getting trashed). These sheets are there for 1 week before you cant book any rooms for the following week. else it's a strain on our time. But yet, we had one teacher come to us today. He asked and asked and asked and moaned and moaned a little more. I still said no no no. this is what i was told to do by.... yup.... my line manager. so whats he do. he fucks off out the room and goes to... the line manager. and guess what - she fucking lets him in there!
What is the fucking point in a system - that everyone knows about! they were told about it 3 weeks ago and every week in the staff meetings!!!!
So yea, i bitch, i goto line manager and ask her what the fucking point in it is. and that if she lets one more person in after they aint booked it we wont bother doing the system at all. Which didnt go down well. not that i give a shit. its true.
Anyways so shes moody with me for the rest of the day, i - already in a shitty mood - am in an even worse mood.
so home time comes, i go home. like yay ¬¬ only good thing i have at home is a bed to lay on and the people i look forward to chatting to on IRC/MSN.
But anyways, chatting away, starting to get in a better mood. then i have to do something for someone, which means they need to update the nameservers for their hosting. I tell them - 3/4 times that it can take upto 48 hours but is norm 24-48ish. i explain why. and yet they are still saying that i am wrong, that there site shows that its updated already and shit. Now, fine if i had made a mistake. But i hadnt. Oh i have only been a webhost for 1 1/2 - 2 years, no i dont know everything, yes i do know this and yes i do know alot about DNS as i have to work with it alot at work. so yea, i dont know wtf im talking about. again.
If the person had looked at the output from his check he would have seen
(No IP Address) or something like that (I was on Linux at the time, am on windows now) AFTER when it lists my NameServers. Meaning? It isnt updated. you try the domain - it wont resolve. your nslookup it you get this

end of the day, what i said was right. i know it to be right. i had to deal with it 4 days ago when moving my HTTP server from the UK to the USA. It took 3 days for my www.newtolinux.co.uk domain to resolve to the new server! I dont chat shit when it comes to IT and Hosting. If i dont know something, i say so. JUST DONT FUCKING IMPLY/ACCUSE ME OF NOT BEING ABLE TO DO MY FUCKING JOB!!! I aint worked with Computers and Networking for the bast 8 years for nothing. (I startted helping to run a 1,200 odd student school when i was 11 when i startted there - just basic things at that time.) and i dont have an MCP for no fucking reason. it means i have a "tiny" idea of wtf im going on about. I'd have my MCSE by now if i had the money for the fucking exams.
fucking me off isnt a good idea.
(and a note to the people that know me well, i have been doing it to myself again, your going to find out somehow at some point, you always do. so i might as well be open about it. for those that dont know me, dont even bother asking)

| so yea, this is the 1st chance i get to post on here, CAUSE MY FUCKING ISP CUT ME OFF ON WEDNESDAY!!!!!!! like 5 DAYS early. Fuckers. So im on the net via my mobile - its giving me a migrane. and its slow. i mean like uber slow, slower than dial up slow. like 6.2 times slower...... argh.....
yea so like, ummm im bored, massively bored. i have jack shit to do, i cant even play games cause i cant find the drivers for my laptop's gfx card... which sucks. and the worst bit, we have the long weekend this week and next week im ment to be off work - im going in anyways - for 2 reasons - i need the money, and i need the net access..... not that im an internet addict or anything.... well maybe i am... but oh sod it, i am.
ugh, i even almost went out clubbing last night. yea i was that bored, but i kinda wont go on my own and seeing as i have no one where i live, aint gonna happen any time soon. i really need to move back to london. i hate it here. job sucks too. though im looking at a new job atm, got some freelance work coming up next week for that, £15 an hr, aint bad. with chance for a new job. will prob move down to where it is if i get it. i doubt i will, and im not 100% about the job. oh well if its ment to happen it will, even if i cant see the reasons behind it. same goes for if i dont get it. it wont be the end of the world as i still have my flat and current job and stuff.
should get my net back in the next 11-17 days (and a new phoneline?) and it'll be 4meg so that better all round and its cheaper too - like £25 a month cheaper :| weird eh..... seems i was getting fucked left, right, center and sideways with my old line lmao.
omg i have just noticed how much i rambled in this post, i really shouldnt do that, its not a good thing to do, mainly cause by the time i have got to this point i have already forgoten what i wrote at the start and have to go and re-read it all again :| oh well guess i should get off of here, it aint free like i would like and so eya, tho 1p a minute aint toooo bad (its alot worse on a week day or in peak times, like 15p a minute!!! damn money grabing whores)
